  Here we are hiking around the canyon rim. Maybe a couple hundred feet from here in a more thick brush, I heard a low basey grunt\growl. I didn't say anything right away, hoping it was just my imagination; but 10 seconds later  Kristine said," I heard something," --  time to take the wife and kids back to camp. That growl had to have been a bear.

There are between 400 to 600 grizzlys alive today in yellowstone
